While it's predictable and you totally know what you're in for in terms of the story, it's a good film. Beyond the visual, the sound editing is superb, it's an engaging and entertaining storyline (even if it's predictable) the characters are relatable but the sheer epic scale of the film is something on the level of Lord of the Rings. The Na'ri dialect is a full language that was created for the film, it's setup for future films via other moons of the gas giant, etc, etc, etc... THe creatures, the flora and fauna, everything fits and it is more than impressive!
The 3D is a character of it's own and it's definitely the star of the show. There are times (watching it in IMAX 3D) where I got vertigo from the views, I've only experienced that before watching shutter goggle 3D IMAX at the Space Camp theater in Florida before. It's definitely an experience worth undertaking but use the bathroom first as it's a long film and every frame is a work of art.

It's a good movie, it's no T2 or Aliens but it's certainly above and beyond True Lies or Titanic... It's James Cameron, I don't think he even knows how to make a "bad" movie. ;) If he decided to do an Alvin & the Chipmunks movie I'd see it. lol
