: For a free album that's released <1 year after the last one, it's excellent.
Hell yeah! I am still impressed at how good the last release Ghosts was as minimalism was never Trent's big thing but he does a pretty awesome job IMO on Ghosts.
: If we had 2 wait 2 years for it and pay $15, I would be a little disappointed.
I hear that! Trent really is doing some awesome stuff showing that he can be far more successful w/out the RIAA and labels than with them and that that freedom really breeds creativity. I mean here you have a guy who released maybe one album every 5 years for the majority of his career and as soon as he's out of his contract he starts publishing multiple releases every year? That's freakin' impressive while touring and taking care of the fan-base through user editable content, tons of releases, etc... Pretty awesome! Granted I'm sure that getting off the smack is helping with that a lot as well! lol
: But I've only listened one time though. There are PLENTY of albums I didn't really think was that great
: on: first listen, that turned out to be (IMO) some of the best music ever made (i.e. Radiohead "The
: Bends", FNM "Real Thing", APC "Thirteenth Step", etc etc)
Man, Faith No More's The Real Thing I was into almost instantly in only for Epic and Falling To Pieces, it took me a lot longer to get into Angel Dust or King for a day.. I've never been a huge Radiohead fan as I like some of their stuff and dislike others so no huge connection with them for me and AFC is similar. The first album was just perfect and each release since has taken me longer to get into and I haven't enjoyed nearly as much with the exception of Emotive..
