: No, I totally understand you're no first time user or whatnot, I just think
: it's funny as most complaints with any type of screen is that it's too dim
: after time or whatnot. I just hadn't thought of it as being a problem top
: be too bright but if it bugs ya, then it bugs ya.
I did a calibration (with the SPyder2 express - good value BTW) and that brings the overall brightness down a smidge. If I still find myself needing to wear sunglasses to watch a movie in the dark though, I may have to install one of the 3rd party apps to get it even dimmer.
: Yeah, that would be cool if they released a slightly larger keyboard with
: number pad. Maybe if it just took and extra battery or something?
Exactly. The old version was 4 batteries. They last like 6 months, so that wasn't a problem for me. It's nice that you can get such small keyboard, which would be perfect for a multimedia center, but I need that number pad. And I like the un-clutter of the BT connection (plus it's just cool in a nerdy way). The full-sized USB aluminum, keyboard is great. I just wish there was the BT equivalent.
: I dunno
: but I can't see myself ever really using one that tiny.
Exactly.
: Doh! Yeah, I was having a moment there where the train of thought was having
: some problems leaving the boarding station. :P NTSF...
I don't use NTSF much myself so I haven't run into that issue. Actually the last time I needed to use an NTFS disk, someone already had it in a USB enclosure, so I couldn't even try FW (although if it were an option I would have)
: Totally, that's cool that the upgrades are getting cheaper. They were still
: through the roof back when I made my last purchase but it's good to hear
: that they're finally coming down to more realistic and fair levels.
Yeah, it's good for the people who don't know any better anyway. Any time I know someone who's getting a new Mac, I try to help them make the best decision on HD and RAM. Almost every time, I end up upgrading the RAM for them to save some significant cash.
