: He went against a commandment, so damn him. It's a bullshit rule that a
: company in that line of business shouldn't be allowed to have, but it's a
: rule and he broke it. So screw him, eh?
No, not screw him... I'm just saying that if you have a written agreement (Such as a job with it's paperwork establishing you as an employee where you legally agree to abide by a set of rules established by that employer) with someone and you invalidate said legal agreement, the other party has the right to terminate your employment. No opinion involved here, just the facts of the way the legal system works. It is within Pizza Hut's legal rights to terminate his employment. I disagree with their choice to do so, but I cannot argue that it is outside of their rights to do so... Biiiiig difference there JT so settle down.
: Rules are supposed to keep people safe, not put them in jeopardy. Pizza
: delivery drivers have been shot at, and some killed, over the chump change
: they're carrying. If I were King of America, all businesses that deliver
: goods or make house calls would be required to arm and train their
: employees. Instead, we have the opposite: we allow businesses to forbid
: their employees to exercise their natural rights. That's bullshit.
Now you're arguing a personal opinion which is a totally different subject. I agree with you on some points, not others but that's a different discussion entirely.
: I hope this guy, or someone else in a similar position, makes a federal case
: of this.
It wouldn't go anywhere.
: Filling out paperwork after being murdered would be pretty damned hard.
So every single time a delivery driver has been held up it's resulted in death? Of course not, we don't even know if the perp's gun was loaded in the first place and I'm not trying to justify anything just that you don't know the perp ever would have even had the balls to pull the trigger. Death isn't the only possibility but it's all you're focusing on. Plus, I agree that he should not have been fired for defending himself.
: He can't predict which hand will be free when the need arises. Hence one gun
: in each pocket. He's damned smart, that's WTF, which is infinitely more
: than I can say for Pizza Butt's executives.
Damn, that's beyond paranoid... Even the gun nuts in Alaska don't go that far.
