STOP the FANS!!

Hey all,
It's been awhile. Hope you're all well. So...I have a G5 Dual 2 gig. For the life of me, I cannot stop these fans from blowing. And it's not just heavy processing either. It's a few web pages open and when I go to the log in window. It's pretty much all the time. I can heat the entire 3rd floor in the winter just off the heat this thing blows and it sounds like a friggin wind tunnel.
Any idea's on how to stop this? OS 10.5.2, BTW.
