: iPhone update is free. You are in the clear ;)

Yup, already running it. It is the 1.1.3 update that I linked to earlier with the "jumbly icons" and everything. Pretty cool. I am pretty impressed with Google's cell-tower triangulation. It was damned-near instant to find me at home, I'll test it at stop lights and whatnot on my way to work to see if ti can still hold up. ;)

: If I didn't already have the ApExt, then I'd go for it. I just wish they'd
: allow you to backup via TM on any airdisk. Clearly they've solved any
: issues that supposedly were the reason for dropping that from the official
: Leopard release.

Well, from what I understood, you could attach an external HD via USB 2, to the airport extreme and it would allow you to access it but I hadn't tried. Maybe it required some kind of 3rrd party app to force it to be able to do so. I don't recall, I still haven't found the time to go and set up my APE yet because of the current cable fiasco going on over here at my place. lol

: Yeah, but it's kind of gimmicky. If I was made of money, I'd get one. With
: the SSD. 1.8" HD is going to be slow as shit. Also, it looks like RAM
: is soldered on. It's nice that you get 2GB, but that's your only option.
: Forever.

Hey, the solid-state drive should be lightning fast. I saw a guy who hacked his MBP and added a 64 gig flash drive in it and from hitting power to being at the full UI was like 6 seconds or something? Pretty impressive. Also, noiseless, less heat, less battery drain, etc. I am really glad that Apple is starting out with SSD media as the prices will only come down in time. Someone has to be an early adopter, why not our favorite fruit out of Cupertino?
