Well, you've got lots of options to play Xvid in Quicktime, but I don't think any of the ones named above will suffice. The DivX Codec and the 3ivx Codec should both be able to handle Xvid. Perian is touting itself as the swiss army knife of QT codecs, and will handle Xvid. And of course, if you aren't too heavily invested in using QT, you can certainly use a different player, such as VLC or MPlayer will handle the video fine.
