In Response To: This is a headache (Zach)

: Ugh, I'm having many little issues w/ Leopard. I was having the keychain
: issue even though I had installed the keychain/login update. Deleted my
: keychain, copied it over from my backup, then it just ignored my keychain
: and worse, wouldn't give me the option to save passwords to the keychain.
: I just ended up deleting all my keychains and retyping in all my passwords
: as I go.

That's lame... I never encountered this issue, and was running for a couple days before the update came out. I guess I just lucked out.

: No Time Machine backups over the network? That blows.

Yeah, I've heard that there's a work around, but haven't found details yet. That blows especially since at one of the WWDC keynotes Steve said it would support network backups.

: Spotlight, by default, doesn't search your library folders (you can get
: around it by adding a 2nd parameter (which also defaults to not include
: the system files!).

Is that just your /Library? or does that include ~/Library? I would agree with Apple not making Spotlight search /Library by default, but it ought search ~/Library IMHO.

: I'm really bummed about the stacks w/no drill-down feature. It's pretty
: useless if you have more things in the stack than can fit in the grid
: (likely screen size/icon size related) b/c it just gives you the first
: items that fill the grid and then just the option to see the rest in the
: finder. Not a real time saver.

Yeah, not a feature that looked useful to me in the first place, and again since I didn't use dock folders before, doesn't bother me...

: I do like Spaces. And the new look has already grown on me enough that when I
: went back to 10.4 for a minute, I didn't liek the way that looked.

I like Spaces, but one behavior that irritates me: If I go into another Space and then open a new window, say a Safari window, I wanted it in the Space I am in, I didn't want to be zipped back to the Space with my other Safari windows.

The unified interface is drastically better. I think it could look better still, but it's way better than the hodgepodge of an interface in Tiger.
