: Wii Sports is great, Bowling and Tennis for fun but I've been enjoying Boxing
: as well. My friend Ben and I have tourneys on it and it can get to be
: quite the workout when you've been playing for 1/2 an hour. ;)
Tennis gets pretty intense too, if you really get into it. I've broken a sweat many times while playing that game...
: Wii Play is also incredibly cool. The duck-hunt styled retro "Shooting
: Range" game is fun, playing pool is fun and Laser Hockey is really
: cool as well. Also the "Find Mii" game is a good brain
: game/pattern recognition. :)
Haven't had a chance to play the Wii Play suite yet, though I'd certainly like to give it a spin...
: SSX I played a couple of times but wasn't able to get into it fully yet. I
: think I just need to be able to get a solid hour of play-time in before
: I'll be able to get into the groove of it. Raving Rabbids is of course the
: new digital crack but I am eagerly awaiting Mario Party and I want to try
: out the Spider-Man 3 movie game. I'd really like to see how the NY
: city-swinging controls go as I'm a big fan of the SM2 movie game as well
: so maybe that's why. ;)
SSX takes some getting used to. Most of the basics you can acquire within an hour or two of gameplay, but the uber-tricks are the stumbling block for me (and most other people, AFAIK). Nonetheless, in spite of that fact, I really enjoy the game quite a bit, and have 'invested' many hours in enjoying it.
: What I'm REALLY waiting for more than anything else are Super Smash Bros.
: Brawl, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy. :)
The new metroid games have definitely impressed me, some very cool level layouts and 'puzzles' to work through, and SMG just looks jaw-droppingly awesome. Strictly from watching the video previews, I can't really decide between SM Galaxy or Super Paper Mario. For me, though, I can't conceive of very many enjoyable & easy-to-use features to really make a Smash Bros game for Wii much of anything special. It's a pretty basic format, which (at least in prior iterations) doesn't seem to have many gameplay elements that could take advantage of the Wii's interface....
The game that I am waiting for is EA Sports NHL 2008. Hockey games are fun, and from what Crosis was telling me a few days ago, it sounds like the Wii could be the best platform yet for playing hockey. The level of control that you would be granted by having the Wiimote represent your stick in all the important aspects of gameplay would be nearly orgasmic!
