: Mine too, your settings must be quicker to encode than the ones I was using.
I guess so. You were doing full resolution? I was at something like 192x340 (H.264, 600 kbps average)
How are you liking yours? I have to say that this 2nd revision is a pretty big improvement besides the obvious (FW800, DL burning, speed bump). I used the new one to zero out the HD on the old one and at the end I picked each one up and noticed a HUGE difference in the temperature. The old one is almost too hot to touch, the new one is only warm to maybe hot. Some people are reporting 40 F cooler average operating temperatures. On top of that, the new one makes no noise whereas the old one had this awful electronic buzz/whine when plugged in. It was really distracting especially b/c it would start and stop all the time. Lastly, I'm blown away by what (so far) seems like a 25% speed increase for a real world test like ripping a DVD.
My only complaint, is that my optical drive is fucked up. I can put a DVD in, play it, rip it, etc. But when I eject it, the drive keeps trying to eject for maybe 3 or 4 tries after the DVD is already out. Then it won't accept another disc unless I have it inserted when rebooting or waking from sleep. Kind of sucks to have that happen right out of the box, but fortunately there is a small, local certified repair center nearby. They diagnosed it in about 2 seconds when they heard the noise it made. Part is on order, I hold onto the machine until it comes in and then they say it'll only take a couple hours to replace. For the time being, I can "force" it to work or use my external drive.
