: Well, the MBP I have now (2.16 GHz Core Duo) is pretty farting fast. I like
: to use Handbrake framerates for a general benchmark. My TiPB (1 GHz) would
: rip a DVD to iPod format at ~15 fps average. The MBP I have now does it at
: ~55 fps average. My friend has a 2.66 GHz MacPro which clocks in at ~105
: fps average. It's retardely fast. Everything happens instantaneously.

Well, don't know what settings you were using, nor what movie(s) you were encoding, so it's not a perfect benchmark comparison, but I ripped a couple of movies with the default settings and averaged about 65 fps.
