: We have now gone over two weeks without a single forum spam... I personally
: hate requiring people to create a user to post, but it seems the lesser of
: two evils.
I don't think it's such a big deal. It's better than having to type in a "magic" word for every post. Although I do think it will cut down on the number of newbie posts. There's been plenty of forums where I wanted to chime in real quick about something, but didn't b/c I didn't want to deal with creating a user profile.
: It's just that we don't seem to be having enough conversations
: amongst ourselves, and we aren't getting the few random conversation
: starting posts we used to.
From my perspective, I've refrained from a lot of obvious posts like "Mac Pro released!" since most of the regulars are really on top of this. However, even the obvious posts can be a good conversation starter.
: What do you al think about Apple paying Creative $100M?
Well, the patent office awarded Creatives patent. Not much Apple could do. $100M to settle 5 lawsuits seems cheap. Plus they can recoup some of that possibly. I need to take a close look at the patent. It seems to me that a lot of MP3 players would be infringing.
: My GF got me a Nano for my B'Day earlier this week... I'm thinking about
: returning it (she says she is perfectly OK with this) and waiting for what
: I imagine will be released in the next month or two... Any thoughts on
: this?
I've been holding off as well. RUmors say 8 GB, possibly video (not important to me on the nano) and maybe magnesium (or aluminum) cases. I really want one bad right now b/c I run a lot and I preferably use Nike running shoes, so I want ot get this whole Nike+ thing going. But I know there's nano updates coming soon . . . .
: I acquired Leopard but have had issue after issue (including losing 180GB of
: data on an external hard drive) installing it, hence my lack of reporting
: on it. Don't know if I should attribute it to it's "DP" status
: or if I got a bad rip...
: How y'all doin?
